Look back at the two months

I was back in Japan for a winter vacation of a month. I have met international students such as Korean, Uzbekistan and Myanmar. The most exciting experiences in the months is a meeting North Korea guy. He was in the same class as me. When I first knew he was from North Korean, I was surprised and confused. I and he were like best partner in the class. In the class, most of the students did not study hard, come on time, and do their homework. If you come here, you will get the meaning of that. I and North Korean guy studied hard and participated in the class every day. I know that is common sense, but in here, it was rare thing. He was very welcome for my questions, so I asked him a lot.

“Were you happy in North Korea?”

“Are you limited to research everything on web?”

“What do you think of the people who try to escape from North Korea?”

“Why do you have nuclear weapon?”

“Why your country were separated?”

I asked him a lot. I was a little bit afraid if he will be angered by my question. He was not angered at all. He answered my all questions with detail. Here is answers what he said.

For him, North Korea is good country because people can go to hospital and school for free. In North Korea, it is limited to research everything on web, but it is OK because the government chose information which is wrong or correct. People can have correct information from the government. The people who try to escape from North Korea were criminals. They were citizen before they had committed criminal. They just try to escape from their punishment. We are very proud of having nuclear weapon because we can not be controlled by the United States. Almost all countries are controlled by the United States. We are also last country of socialism. I’m happy to be born in North Korea. Here is what he said to my questions, but it might was not accurate because I paraphrased his saying by my words.

I know he was born in rich family, so he can go to school and hospital for free. I know there is no human right in North Korea. I know the government is killing innocent people because I have heard that from TV and web. He also knows that what I thought of North Korea because there is wrong information for North Korea on TV and web. He said "It can’t be helped. Please come and see North Korea."

I thought he has been brainwashed by the government, but for him, he thought we have been brainwashed by some wrong information about North Korea. I can’t decide which is wrong or correct because I have never been there and just had information which made by someone. Regardless of what he thinks, I never go to North Korea anyway.

I learned one thing through North Korean guy. People should avoid judging by one-side information because it is not enough to judge. If you want to know about something in detail, you should not rely on web and TV all. It is not only North Korea, but also connecting to everything.
